Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hdc1 3.3G   3.1G  197M 95% /
/dev/hda1 2.8G   755M 2.1G 27%  /var/www
/dev/hdh   27G    5.8G  21G 22%  /home
/dev/md0  423G  316G 107G 75% /ftp
psrv2:/ftp 1.2T   203G  990G 17% /ftp/psrv2

approximately 1.6terabytes in servers.

including desktop/laptops i’ve surpassed the 2terabyte mark :)

psrv2 is now almost fully functional, requiring only a small kernel recompile and some more services. i have a few future plans for integrating the two psrvs together more closely, but that will take place over a longer period of time.

psrv is almost operative at gigabit speeds, just requiring a quick swap of primary eth interface. gigabit sure is nice – everyone better upgrade their network interfaces to make the most of burst transfers at future lans :)

2 lans marked my arrival back in perth quite well, and while we didn’t get *that* much gaming done at either, NDS were definitely the most fun part! mario kart owwns.

so were 24″ monitors of various brands with xbox360s connected. finally experienced uno for myself! would be nice to have a 360, but the $1000ish price tag is just a bit…

wtf md came to lan but left after 3 hours :( FAILED

torrenting fun

Tuesday, June 6th, 2006

so since i’ve had tv capture set up for a while, i decided to finally try and encode something seriously for the general internet population :p. last night i was lucky enough to flick to NHK as popjam dx was starting.

the weather has been hot lately, so i wasn’t looking forward to the encoding session of the 1.5hour long show.

i actually fell asleep next to my laptop as it was encoding, and woke up in a huge sweat as the room temperature was well above safe levels :s. not only did i have my computer encoding, i also had the capture machine constantly chewing away at its 5400rpm hard drive transferring the raw data to mine. not so cool ^^;.

i was planning on keeping the torrent private initially, but as noone else uploaded to daddicts, i tried. its using psrv’s (barely working) tracker, and currently has around 23 seeds and quite a few more peers. began seeding with my poor 512kbit upload limited cable here, as well as psrv’s 512kbit upload back at home.

feel free to get the torrent – especially if you like def tech or dreams come true, as they both do some really cool live performing. b’z were kind of disappointing, only doing their single splash which i’m not a huge fan of.

torrenting is quite fun in short, and i hope to do a bit more if i can find some more interesting tv to encode :) . maybe i can figure out how to get cable tv to work without the stupid protection this capture device leaves on the video :/.

elite beat agents..?

Thursday, May 11th, 2006

i have to say – even though i haven’t watched much of the stuff from e3 yet, i was impressed by most of the new games on the calendar to be released.  one that caught my eye was the US version of ouendan.

the first word that comes to my head is WHY?  are americans so stupid that they couldn’t understand japanese culture of cheer teams?  where did they come up with the name Elite Beat Agents anyways…  well if there’s one thing they did successfully in this port, it was erasing all signs of japanese influence on it.  they don’t play any of the actual in-game music in the trailer, but i don’t have any high expectations.

in fact – on watching it again i realise they didn’t remove all japanese influences.  it seems HG got his line in there somehow. :/

even though it looks like quite a stupid remake, if i do ever get a flash cart for my dslite i might be inclined to try this depending on the song selection.  then i can clock up my 気… i mean Yes gauge.

*cries in pain*
