while i can’t take too much credit, the group i was in for the ACM programming competition ended up coming third regionally (and around 17th nationally i believe..). anyway that was just an introduction for the amazing prize i ended up taking home!
what could be more satisfying a prize than… magnetic sticks in a can! not just any can – a foam lined tin with a nicely printed IBM logo on top. included inside are 10 small and 10 large sticks, along with 14 ball bearings (not magnetised). this clearly makes for endless hours of fun :p.
you can make totally useless crap! another distraction in my already horribly unmanaged life. o/

i make this post at risk of it only being understood by the… 1? japanese person who visits my site :p. anyway, in order to apply for the JLPT, i had to take some forms to curtin uni. all good? on arriving at the education building, we decided to take the elevator close by.

Schindler… schindler… that name rings a bell. OH, that’s right, its the company which got bashed with front page headlines for almost a week over their horrible software which had bugs, but moreso after a person was killed in one (although it was mostly the person’s fault – who would reverse out of an elevator on a bike). シンドラ… 死ドラ?
i found that interesting anyways. and i’m still alive to tell the tale!
